Pakistan’s leading sports goods manufacturer Forward Sports has signed a technical and investment cooperation agreement with China’s Zhongzi Huaxin Group to jointly produce world-class sports footwear in Pakistan.
The agreement was signed on Thursday at the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), marking another step toward attracting foreign investment and expanding Pakistan’s sports manufacturing industry.
Forward Sports is internationally recognized for producing official Adidas footballs used in multiple FIFA World Cuptournaments. In addition to footballs, the company manufactures sports bags, apparel, and lifestyle footwear for global markets.
Zhongzi Huaxin Group is a diversified Chinese investment and asset management company with expertise in industrial development, footwear and apparel parks, and regional economic cooperation.
According to the SIFC, the signing ceremony was attended by Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, the Director General of SIFC, the Chairman of the Pakistan Regional Economic Forum, and the chief executive officers of both Forward Sports and Zhongzi Huaxin Group.
The partnership is expected to promote technology transfer, strengthen Pakistan’s industrial base, create new employment opportunities, and diversify the country’s export portfolio by combining Pakistan’s manufacturing expertise with Chinese investment and technical know-how.
Officials believe the collaboration will also help Pakistan increase its presence in the rapidly expanding global sports footwear market while enhancing the country’s reputation as a leading manufacturer of high-quality sporting goods.
The agreement reflects the government’s broader efforts, through the SIFC, to facilitate strategic foreign investment and promote export-oriented industries across Pakistan.
