Private schools secured most of the top positions in Punjab’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) First Annual Examination 2026. A comparison of the overall toppers from all nine education boards shows that private institutions produced eight of the 11 overall position holders. Government schools secured the remaining three positions. The results also show that private schools claimed top positions in seven out of Punjab’s nine education boards.

Private Schools Secure Most Top Positions
Private schools delivered the strongest performance in this year’s Matric examination. They produced the overall toppers of Lahore, D.G. Khan, Faisalabad, Multan, Rawalpindi, and Gujranwala boards.
Amina Mahboob from The Educators High School for Girls, Pattoki, recorded the highest score among all listed students. She secured 1,192 out of 1,200 marks and became the Lahore Board topper.
Three students scored 1,191 marks. They included Abdullah Saleem from D.G. Khan Board, Umna Salahuddin from Faisalabad Board, and Muhammad Manan Ahtsham from Rawalpindi Board.
Meanwhile, Mehreen Rasool of Ibn-e-Seena Girls Higher Secondary School, Dunyapur, secured 1,190 marks and topped the Multan Board.
Gujranwala Board announced two joint overall toppers. Adeena Rashid from Future Vision Secondary School for Girls and Sadiqa Almas from A+ School System for Girls each scored 1,190 marks.
As a result, private schools produced at least one overall topper in seven of Punjab’s nine education boards.

Government Schools Also Earned Top Honors
Government schools also secured impressive results in several boards. Nabeel Ahmad Kazmi from Government High School 47/TDA, Bhakkar, topped the Sargodha Board with 1,188 marks.
Similarly, Abdul Haseeb from Government Abbasia Higher Secondary School secured first position in the Bahawalpur Board. He obtained 1,186 marks.
Sahiwal Board remained the only board where both sectors shared the overall first position. Munsaf Bashir from Government Higher Secondary School 168/9-L, Sahiwal, and Abdullah Nasir from New Beacon House High School, Arifwala, both secured 1,191 marks.

The overall results highlight the strong presence of private schools among Punjab’s Matric board toppers this year. However, government institutions also maintained a strong position by producing top performers in key education boards and sharing the highest position in Sahiwal.
