NADRA has issued notices to 741 more individuals in Punjab suspected of illegally holding Pakistani identity cards, directing them to verify their documents within 15 days or face suspension.
The notices were issued on Sunday by the NADRA Regional Headquarters, which released an initial list of the 741 suspected CNIC holders. The list includes individuals from Jhelum district and its various tehsils.
All those named have been instructed to appear in person at their relevant NADRA Zonal Office within the given timeframe, along with all required supporting documents.
NADRA officials warned that the identity cards of individuals who fail to appear within the 15-day period will be blocked. The authority added that further action would be taken against the suspected individuals as well as their family members.
The move is part of a broader crackdown on fake and unlawfully obtained identity documents, which has also uncovered cases of Afghan refugees having acquired Pakistani identity cards illegally.
