The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has arrested and fined an Islamabad resident for washing his car outside his house in Sector G-11/2, in a crackdown linked to rising dengue concerns in the city.
The CDA confirmed the action in a post on X, stating that the violator had been arrested, a challan issued, and legal proceedings initiated under applicable law.
A copy of the challan was also shared on the authority’s social media account.
The enforcement action followed a citizens complaint accompanied by a video circulating on social media that showed a vehicle being washed on a public road.
The footage highlighted concerns in G-11/2, Street 78, and surrounding areas, where roadside car washing has been flagged as a factor contributing to stagnant water and dengue-friendly breeding conditions.
The complainant urged the Chief Commissioner Islamabad and the CDA chairman to take immediate and sustained action against such violations.
The CDA warned that strict measures would continue against anyone found breaching water-wastage and public health regulations, signalling a wider enforcement push as authorities work to curb dengue risks across the capital.
