The Pakistan Army successfully intercepted and downed an Indian Nagastra loitering munition. The Indian suicide drone crossed the Line of Control (LoC) recently. This blatant airspace violation occurred in the Kotli sector of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
Following the airspace violation, military personnel in the area immediately neutralized the Indian drone. Subsequently, security sources and open-source intelligence confirmed the interception. Officials specifically identified the downed lightweight munition as a Nagastra-1 variant.
The Nagastra-1 operates using an electric-propulsion system. Furthermore, it is an indigenously manufactured weapon from India. The Indian Army actively utilizes this loitering munition for two main objectives. Primarily, they deploy the hardware for advanced surveillance. Additionally, they use the drone to execute precision strikes.
Currently, cross-border aerial surveillance tensions continue to escalate. Consequently, defense reports note heightened vigilance along the entire frontier. Moreover, security forces are recording additional tracking and interceptions across nearby sectors. Therefore, the military maintains a strict watch to counter any further incursions.
