The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to establish Citizen Facilitation Centers in every district of the province to provide multiple government services under one roof.
KP Minister for Science, Technology and Information Technology Shafi Jan issued the directive while chairing a high-level meeting at the office of Secretary Science and Information Technology Abdul Basit.
Senior officials, including Director General Science and Technology Sajid Ali Shah and Managing Director Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board Dr. Aqif Khan, attended the meeting.
The minister was briefed on the department’s performance, ongoing projects and future initiatives focused on science and technology, innovation, e-governance, digitalization, research and development.
Officials said the department is also working to promote industrial development, IT education and training, while supporting local IT companies.
The meeting was further informed that initiatives are underway to establish IT parks and increase software exports in the province. Meanwhile, six Model IT Labs have already been established in schools across the merged districts.
The proposed Citizen Facilitation Centers are expected to make access to government services easier by bringing multiple facilities together at a single location.
