The Punjab government has decided to introduce social skills training for students in public schools across the province as part of efforts to promote positive behaviour and personal development.
The School Education Department has also issued a formal curriculum for the new programme.
Under the initiative, schools will arrange dedicated periods and practical activities to help students develop important skills including discipline, responsibility, teamwork and positive social behaviour.
Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said education is no longer limited to textbooks and academic learning.
He emphasized that developing positive habits and social skills is important for helping students become responsible, well-mannered and productive citizens in the future.
The initiative aims to make students’ overall development an important part of the public school education system in Punjab.
