The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced a scheduled power suspension programme for Saturday, August 29, affecting several areas of Islamabad, Jhelum and Chakwal due to maintenance and development work. IESCO has also published the August 29 shutdown schedule on its official website.
According to the announced schedule, electricity supply in parts of the Islamabad Circle will remain suspended from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Faisal Masjid, Ayub Market, HC-I, HC-II, G-9/4, SUPARCO, T&T, PTCL, G-8/1, G-8, G-8 Markaz and Marvi areas.
Power supply will also remain suspended from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. in IT Park, Scheme-II, Kund Rajgan, King Hammad and Chatta Bakhtawar.
In the Jhelum Circle, IESCO will suspend electricity from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. in Chamala, City Housing, Sanghoi, Safdar Shaheed, Nathwala, F-2 (Chip Board), Langarpur, New Cantt Jhelum, Saeela, Nougran, Khai Kulia, Pakhwal, Industrial and F-10 (Kala Base), among other areas.
In the Chakwal Circle, electricity supply will remain suspended from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Abdullah Pur, Jalal Pur, Sagharpur and CWO areas.
The GSO Circle will also experience scheduled interruptions at different times.
From 5 a.m. to 7 a.m., maintenance work will affect the 132kV circuit breaker Islamabad controlling the 132kV Zero Point G-13 circuit.
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., work will affect the 132kV AWC HMC Taxila and 132kV Sangjani-Burhan lines.
Meanwhile, maintenance from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. will affect the 132kV Kahuta City-Palandri and 132kV New Wah-Bahtermore lines, along with related earth switches and surrounding areas.
IESCO has apologized to consumers for the temporary disruption and said electricity supply may be restored earlier than the scheduled time if maintenance work is completed ahead of schedule. Similar scheduled maintenance shutdowns have been routinely issued by IESCO for different areas of its service region.
