The Privatization Commission has extended the deadline for investors to submit expressions of interest in the sale of the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO).
Bidders now have until 4:00 pm on September 21, 2026, to submit their expressions of interest.
The extension is part of the government’s ongoing effort to privatize state-run power distribution companies, a process officials have long described as central to reforming the loss-making energy sector.
A commission spokesperson said the additional time was granted to attract a wider pool of local and international investors, with the goal of making the bidding process more competitive and transparent.
Apart from the revised deadline, all other terms and conditions of the expression of interest process remain unchanged. Investors seeking further details or the relevant bidding documents can access them through the official website of the Privatization Commission.
The commission has not indicated whether this is the final extension it will grant before moving to the next stage of the IESCO privatization process.
