Malaysia Airlines may soon begin operating flights to Karachi, potentially improving air connectivity between Pakistan and Malaysia.
The possibility was discussed during a meeting between Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi and newly appointed Malaysian Consul General Muhammad Younis Ibrahim at Governor House on Saturday.
During the meeting, both sides discussed measures to strengthen bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, and people-to-people relations. They also explored increasing exchanges of business and trade delegations between Pakistan and Malaysia.
The Malaysian consul general said Malaysia Airlines may soon launch flights to Karachi, which could make travel more convenient for businesspeople and tourists while strengthening links between the two countries.
Ibrahim said promoting economic diplomacy is among his key priorities. He also highlighted potential areas of cooperation between Pakistan and Malaysia, including technology, electric vehicles, and solar energy.
Governor Hashmi said Pakistan offers a range of tourist destinations that could attract more Malaysian visitors. He also highlighted opportunities to increase cooperation in the surgical instruments sector, where Pakistani products have significant demand in international markets.
The possible launch of Malaysia Airlines flights to Karachi could support tourism, business travel, and broader economic ties between Pakistan and Malaysia.
