The Punjab School Education Department has introduced a new schedule to speed up the promotion process for teachers and other employees across the province.
Under the new directives, districts will be required to hold Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meetings four times a year to ensure timely and transparent processing of promotion cases.
According to a notification issued by the School Education Department, DPC meetings will be held during the first week of January, April, July, and October every year.
The department has directed all Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of district education authorities to follow the new schedule strictly. Officials have also been instructed to complete all four scheduled DPC meetings for 2026 by October.
The School Education Department will open the School Information System (SIS) portal four times a year to facilitate the promotion process.
Under the new schedule, eligible employees will be tagged on the SIS portal during the third week of each scheduled month. The promotion actualization process will then be opened during the fourth week.
The system is aimed at making the promotion process more organized and reducing delays in the disposal of cases.
The department has warned that disciplinary action will be taken against officials who fail to conduct the mandatory DPC meetings according to the prescribed schedule.
The performance of CEOs and District Education Officers (DEOs) will also be assessed based on how promptly they process and dispose of promotion cases.
The new schedule is expected to provide teachers and other education department employees with a more regular and transparent mechanism for departmental promotions.
