Lahore Police have intensified vehicle inspections at the entry points as part of a crackdown aimed at preventing road accidents, with fitness-certificate violators and unlicensed commercial vehicles now barred from entering the city.
According to the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, checking has been stepped up at all entry points to the city, targeting vehicles that fail to meet safety and documentation requirements.
Officials said 108 trolleys carrying sand and soil without protective tarpaulin covers have been seized during the operation.
The CTO office further reported that action is underway against 210 heavy vehicles found operating without valid fitness certificates. Separately, cases have been registered against 16 drivers for operating heavy machinery without proper licenses.
Authorities said the enhanced checking will continue at Lahore’s entry points to curb the entry of unsafe and non-compliant vehicles, as part of broader efforts to reduce road accidents in the city.
