Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has opened applications for the Chief Minister’s Electric Bike Scheme, allowing eligible students across the province to apply for subsidized electric bikes.
Applications for the scheme officially opened on September 5, 2026. Students can register through the official CM Punjab Electric Bike Scheme portal.
Under the scheme, the Punjab government will distribute 100,000 electric bikes among students enrolled in educational institutions across the province.
Students studying in both government and private schools, colleges, and universities are eligible to apply. The scheme covers students from more than 33,000 public and private educational institutions across Punjab.
The electric bikes will be offered in different colors, while pink bikes will be specifically designated for female students.
The total cost of each electric bike has been set at PKR 199,000. However, students will only have to pay PKR 109,000 under the subsidized scheme.
The student contribution will be paid through a 36-month installment plan, with the monthly installment fixed at approximately PKR 3,028.
The Punjab government will bear the costs of insurance, mark-up, and registration, helping reduce the financial burden on participating students.

Students are encouraged to complete the registration process through the official portal and provide the required information during application.
The CM Punjab Electric Bike Scheme is intended to provide students with more affordable and convenient transportation for their daily travel to educational institutions.
Maryam Nawaz said the applications were being opened as promised, giving students across Punjab an opportunity to benefit from the electric bike program.
The initiative is also expected to promote the use of electric vehicles among young people while making daily commuting more accessible for students across the province.
