Passport delivery counters nationwide will remain open on Saturdays from 8am to 4pm for the next two months, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGIP) has announced.
In a public notice posted on its official website and shared on social media, the DGIP urged citizens to collect their ready passports at the earliest opportunity. The extended hours are meant to accommodate applicants who cannot visit passport offices during regular weekday timings.
The DGIP cautioned that any passport left unclaimed for six months would be destroyed in line with government policy, and it encouraged applicants to check their passport status and arrange timely collection.
The move follows the DGIP’s launch in July of “Passport Aapki Dehleez Par,” a home delivery service developed in partnership with courier company TCS.
DGIP Director General Muhammad Ali Randhawa said the initiative demonstrated the department’s commitment to making passport services more accessible to the public.
