Bitcoin is showing a potentially bullish long-term signal after the Fisher Transform indicator recorded a rare monthly bullish crossover, according to analyst Willy Woo.
The indicator produced its fourth-ever bullish crossover on Bitcoin’s monthly chart in August. Previous crossovers have coincided with the end of major Bitcoin bear markets, including the 2022 market bottom.
The Fisher Transform is a technical analysis tool designed to highlight trend strength and identify potential turning points. For Bitcoin, a sharp upward reversal in the indicator, accompanied by a crossover between its Fisher and trigger lines, has historically appeared near major market bottoms.
According to Woo, the latest crossover occurred around July at a reading of -2.26. He noted that previous Bitcoin bottoms had produced similar signals, although the indicator can also generate temporary reversals during broader bull markets.
The weekly Bitcoin chart is also showing a bullish divergence. The Fisher Transform reached a low of -2.85 in December 2025 while Bitcoin was trading near $90,000. Since then, the indicator has formed higher lows even as Bitcoin’s price has recorded lower lows.
A similar divergence appeared during the final stages of Bitcoin’s 2022 bear market. However, questions remain over whether Bitcoin’s July low near $57,000 represented the definitive bottom of the current market cycle.
Woo has also previously pointed to relatively limited buyer interest around those lows, with on-chain data indicating that only a small number of large-volume investors were accumulating Bitcoin at the time.
The latest Fisher Transform readings therefore provide another technical signal being watched by market analysts, although they do not guarantee that Bitcoin will continue higher or that a market bottom has been confirmed.
