GREE Electric Appliances Inc. has been ranked No. 1 globally by sales volume of premium residential air conditioners in 2025, according to a Market Position Statement issued by the international research and consulting firm Frost & Sullivan in July 2026.
The premium category, as defined by Frost & Sullivan, covers residential air conditioners priced in the top 20 percent of all units sold in their respective regional markets. These are products chosen for higher energy efficiency, quieter operation, greater intelligence, refined design and superior build quality rather than for price alone, which makes leadership in this segment a measure of engineering strength rather than of volume.
That strength has been built over decades of research and development. GREE today holds 50 independently assessed world-leading technologies spanning compressor design, system engineering, artificial intelligence and acoustics. Its AI-based energy management improves annual efficiency by up to 23 percent, while its SilenzX series operates at just 15 dB(A) indoors, a level recognised with a Gold Medal at the 51st International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva. The company has also developed compressor technologies engineered specifically for extreme-heat climates.
