The Punjab Higher Education Department has approved electric buses for 25 government colleges in the current fiscal year to improve transport facilities for students.
Director Public Instruction (DPI) Colleges Dr Ansar Azhar said buses were provided to 35 colleges last year. Several of these institutions had faced difficulties managing their fuel budgets.
The electric buses are being introduced under the eco-friendly policy of the province and are expected to save colleges millions of rupees annually.
