The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday issued notices to the respondents and sought their replies on an appeal filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against the decision of an accountability court to unfreeze Summit Bank shares worth Rs12 billion in the fake bank accounts case.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Ayaz Shaukat issued the order while hearing the NAB petition. The court adjourned the case until October 27.
NAB stated that the Islamabad Accountability Court had ordered the restoration of the Summit Bank assets. The bureau maintained that the decision ignored important material available on the record.
It further argued that the accountability court did not consider relevant evidence and record when it set aside the order freezing the assets.
