The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has clarified that pension payments will not be stopped if pensioners did not obtain a proof-of-life certificate in September.
NADRA Public Information Officer Syed Shabahat Ali said the non-issuance of the certificate would not, by itself, result in the suspension of pension payments. He added that the government has decided not to stop pensions solely because a retiree has not obtained a proof-of-life certificate from NADRA.
The decision covers retired employees of various institutions, including the armed forces and federal and provincial government departments. NADRA is also working with relevant institutions to facilitate the issuance of proof-of-life certificates for pensioners.
