The Punjab government has formed a nine-member committee to develop a transparent, merit-based system for house jobs and postgraduate training for foreign medical graduates.
The committee, comprising vice-chancellors of medical universities and principals of medical colleges, will review existing procedures and recommend measures to ensure fair and consistent selection across the province.
The panel will examine the current induction process and review the verification of applicants’ degrees, registrations, licences, and eligibility. It will also identify administrative and legal gaps that may affect the selection of foreign medical graduates for training programmes.
The committee will propose a centralised system for applications, document verification, merit-based selection, and placement. The proposed framework aims to standardise procedures and improve transparency in medical training opportunities across Punjab.
The Punjab Health Department has directed the committee to submit its recommendations within 10 days. The proposals are expected to help establish a uniform process for foreign medical graduates seeking house jobs and postgraduate training in the province.
