The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has waived the urgent driving license fee and reduced the processing time for regular licenses from two weeks to three days to facilitate applicants. The decision was issued on the directions of Islamabad Inspector General of Police Mohammad Sohail Chaudhry.
Under the revised system, the distinction between urgent and regular driving licenses has been eliminated, and applicants will receive their licenses at their doorsteps within two to three days. Applicants must provide their delivery address when visiting the ITP office and complete the required procedures, including medical and physical tests and photography, in a single visit.
The ITP has also simplified the process for obtaining duplicate and renewed driving licenses. Applicants visiting the traffic police office or other police facilitation centres can receive these licenses within an hour by paying the regular fee, without any additional urgent charges.
The measures aim to make driving license services faster and more convenient for residents of Islamabad by reducing processing times and eliminating extra fees for urgent services.
