The University of British Columbia (UBC) in Canada will open applications on October 15, 2026, for its Master of Applied Science (MASc) in Electrical and Computer Engineering program for the September 2027 intake. The research-based degree is open to Canadian and international students, including Pakistani applicants, with the application deadline set for January 15, 2027.
According to UBC’s published funding statistics, students in a supported cohort received median annual funding of CAD 32,575 during their first two years of study. The median net funding was CAD 22,970 after tuition and student fees. However, these figures are not guaranteed for every student, as financial assistance depends on available scholarships, research assistantships, teaching positions, and supervisor funding.
The university’s annual tuition is approximately CAD 10,081.65 for international students and CAD 5,738.52 for domestic students. Eligible international students may also receive an International Tuition Award worth up to CAD 3,200 per year. Applicants generally need a relevant four-year bachelor’s degree, strong academic results, proof of English proficiency where required, and three recommendation letters. The GRE is not mandatory.
Interested candidates can apply through UBC’s official graduate admissions portal and should review the program’s academic requirements, research areas, and funding options before submitting their applications. Applicants are also encouraged to identify potential faculty supervisors whose research aligns with their interests, as research funding opportunities vary by supervisor and project.
