Peshawar’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system has received 27 additional buses, completing the delivery of all 52 newly purchased vehicles. The latest batch arrived at the Chamkani depot on Friday morning, October 16, according to TransPeshawar.
The first 25 buses arrived in Peshawar last month, while the remaining 27 have now completed the delivery process. With the addition of these vehicles, the total BRT fleet has increased to 296 buses.
TransPeshawar said the new buses would help improve passenger services, strengthen existing operations, and support the introduction of new routes across the city.
The company also clarified misleading claims circulating on social media suggesting that the buses were being transported out of Peshawar. According to TransPeshawar, the vehicles shown in the videos were actually being brought into the city.
The arrival of all 52 buses has now clarified the situation and confirmed the expansion of Peshawar’s public transport fleet.
