Air Link Communication Limited (Airlink) has entered the electric vehicle market with AirV, a new electric bike brand offering 11 models across six series. The company announced the launch in a statement.
The lineup is designed for different customer preferences, riding requirements and applications. Features include cruise control, regenerative battery technology, NFC functionality and anti-theft systems. Lithium battery options are available, with model-specific ranges of up to 200 kilometres.
Airlink had earlier informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange that the project is being implemented at its manufacturing facility in the Sundar Green Special Economic Zone (SGSEZ) in Lahore. Group CEO Muzaffar Hayat Paracha told Business Recorder that manufacturing capacity will be operationalised in phases.
He said the company plans to localise almost 95 percent of production over the next two to three years, gradually reducing its reliance on imported components. The company also plans to use its Airfin financing service to offer buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) options on electric bikes.
Speaking at the launch, Airlink Chairman Aslam Hayat Piracha said AirV aims to make modern, reliable and technology-driven mobility more accessible and affordable. He said the company also intends to contribute to the EV ecosystem in Pakistan through local manufacturing, technological advancement and sustainable business practices.
Paracha said the launch marks another milestone in the innovation and diversification journey of Airlink, adding that the company sees significant potential in Pakistan’s move towards electric mobility.
Pakistan’s EV industry is gaining momentum due to government policies, environmental concerns and rising fuel costs, though it continues to face significant challenges.
