The Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA) has introduced a new Smart Syllabus for Class 11 students for the 2026-27 academic session and 2027 annual board examinations.
According to a notification issued on November 6, 2026, the revised syllabus comes under the Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) and includes deleted chapters, selected topics, reduced exercise questions, updated pairing schemes, and model papers. The changes were approved during PECTAA’s 13th Academics Committee meeting on November 5.
The revised syllabus covers English, Urdu, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science and Entrepreneurship, and Islamic Studies. In Mathematics, the entire Unit 8, covering Mathematical Induction and Binomial Theorem, has been excluded, along with selected topics from other units. Chemistry students will no longer need to prepare the chapters on Basic Separation Techniques and Lab Safety and Practical Skills.
The new Smart Syllabus will apply to all nine Punjab Boards, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalpur. PECTAA has also directed its IT department to upload the revised syllabus, pairing schemes, and model papers to its official website for students and teachers.
