Adyen has launched a new set of tools to power AI-driven shopping. The product helps large businesses sell through AI platforms without rebuilding their systems. Adyen Agentic was announced on June 16 and aims to simplify those connections.
The company describes Adyen Agentic as a universal translator. It sits between merchants and the growing number of AI shopping platforms. Instead of building separate connections for each platform, businesses integrate with Adyen once. The system then handles different protocols, product formats, and payment requirements.
Adyen believes this approach suits a fast-evolving market. AI shopping experiences keep multiplying, each with its own technical demands. A single integration lets retailers reach customers across many platforms. That cuts cost and complexity for enterprise sellers.
The platform rests on three key components. Agentic Feed distributes real-time product information, including pricing, inventory, and availability. Agentic Cart links existing checkout, tax, and order systems to AI shopping services. Agentic Payments handles payments, protection, authentication, and secure transactions across protocols.
Several major players have already joined the ecosystem. Strategic partners include American Express, Mastercard, Salesforce, and Visa. Enterprise retailers ESW, Scheels, Sézane, and SharkNinja are also participating. The launch starts in limited availability for US merchants, with global expansion planned.
“Every new agentic surface asks merchants to rebuild from scratch,” said Karan Katyal, Global Head of Agentic Commerce at Adyen. “We believe the future of agentic commerce should be open, so we intentionally designed Adyen Agentic to help retailers integrate once and participate across evolving platforms, protocols, and experiences — without having to bet on which ecosystems ultimately win. The ecosystem is evolving rapidly and we’re excited to enable innovative merchants to experiment with agentic commerce first-hand.”
The product runs on Adyen’s existing enterprise infrastructure. It uses the same authentication and fraud systems that process trillions of dollars yearly.
To those unaware, Adyen is the financial technology platform of choice for leading companies. By providing end-to-end payments capabilities, data-driven insights, and financial products in a single global solution, Adyen helps businesses achieve their ambitions faster. With offices around the world, Adyen works with world renown companies including Meta, Uber, H&M, eBay, and Microsoft.
