Ali Tareen Responds to the Return of Multan Sultans to PSL

Former Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen has welcomed the return of the franchise to the Pakistan Super League (PSL), thanking Gohar Shah for restoring the Multan-based team.

In a message posted on his official X account, Tareen reflected on his seven-year association with Multan Sultans, describing it as one of the proudest chapters of his professional life.

He said he left the franchise without regrets, but admitted that the moment Multan was removed from the league was deeply painful for him and the people of South Punjab.

Tareen said the decision hurt not because of what it meant personally, but because it affected loyal supporters and a region he believes has long remained underrepresented.

Describing the franchise as more than a cricket team, he said it symbolized pride and identity for South Punjab, whose people he called passionate and deserving of greater opportunities.

He concluded by thanking Gohar Shah for what he described as fighting for the region and ensuring that Multan regained its place in the Pakistan Super League.

Earlier today, it was confirmed that Gohar Shah-led CD Ventures had taken control of the Sialkot Stallionz franchise, which was originally purchased by OZ Developers for Rs 1.85 billion.

The development was announced during a joint press conference in Lahore attended by Pakistan Super League Chief Executive Salman Naseer and Hamza Majeed of OZ Developers.

Naseer said that following the takeover and restructuring process, the valuation of the franchise has risen to Rs 2 billion annually under the new ownership arrangement.

He also confirmed that at the request of Gohar Shah, the Sialkot Stallionz franchise would be rebranded and would now compete once again under the name Multan Sultans.
