Android 9.0 Pie beta version is available on US and South Korean models of the Galaxy S9 and S9+. This update formally brings in Samsung One UI which we detailed earlier plus Unicode emojis are also available now. The beta update carries an extensive changelog which introduces the basic features of Android 9 Pie such as replying directly to messages in the Notifications area and more.

This update brings Samsung’s take on Android 9 Pie’s new interface. The total download size of the update is around 1.8GB. You can view the entire changelog below:

Aside from the new design, several new clock styles have been added to the Always On display plus the settings menu have been reorganized to make navigation easier. You can also view 2000 entries in your call history now, up from 500 previously.

To register in the beta program, you need to open the Samsung+ app and tap the notice “One UI with Android 9.0 on Galaxy S9/S9+.”  After that, simply go to the Settings app and tap Software Update: Download updates manually option.
