ARC Raiders has officially overtaken Battlefield 6 in total concurrent players on Steam. Despite being out for less than two weeks, Embark Studios’ new extraction shooter is already one of the platform’s most-played titles.
According to SteamDB, the extraction shooter now has over 460,000 active players, placing it third overall on Steam, just behind Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2. In comparison, Battlefield 6 currently sits fourth with over 430,000 active players. The data only reflects Steam users, so Battlefield 6 may still lead on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S.
Even though Battlefield 6 launched on October 10, the fast growth of ARC Raiders has surprised many. Its solo-player-friendly gameplay and positive community response have drawn both new and veteran fans of extraction shooters.

Both games have received very positive reviews, but ARC Raiders holds a clear edge in affordability. It costs $40, while Battlefield 6 is priced at $70. Even with Battlefield’s free-to-play battle royale mode, Battlefield RedSec, ARC Raiders’ unique formula and accessible gameplay loop seem to have struck a stronger chord with players.
Despite some recent server struggles, the extraction shooter continues to grow. Players have been diving into new in-game events such as the Hidden Bunker Event and the Electromagnetic Storm weather condition.
Meanwhile, some players are calling for a PvE-only mode to complement the game’s intense PvP experience. Still, the overall community reaction remains overwhelmingly positive.
The achievement quickly spread across the internet. The community has been celebrating the game’s success as a major win for Embark Studios’ first major IP.
While the extraction shooter leads in active players, Battlefield 6 still holds the higher peak player count, over 747,000, compared to ARC Raiders’ latest 460,000. Even so, ARC Raiders’ steady rise suggests continued momentum as new roadmap content rolls out in the coming months.
