Islamabad will host high-level peace talks between the United States and Iran on Friday, 10 April, as both nations pursue direct diplomatic negotiations.
Senior delegations from both countries are expected to meet for direct discussions aimed at ending weeks of hostilities following the outbreak of conflict earlier this year.
Meanwhile, authorities have denied social media reports claiming a local holiday will be observed in Islamabad and Rawalpindi on 9 and 10 April during talks.
Officials confirmed that no holiday notification has been issued and said any formal announcement regarding public holidays will be communicated through official government channels.
Residents have been urged to refrain from sharing unverified information on closures or holidays linked to the upcoming diplomatic visit to Islamabad on Friday, 10 April.
Authorities in Islamabad have closed multiple Red Zone entry points ahead of expected diplomatic talks involving delegations from Iran and the United States this week.
Traffic police said Express Gate at D-Chowk, Marriot Gate, T-Cross and NADRA Gate remain shut for commuters until further notice during security arrangements.
Motorists have been advised to use Margalla Gate and Serena Gate as alternative routes when travelling near central Islamabad during the planned traffic management operation.
Officials said temporary road closures are also expected between Old Airport and the Red Zone on 10 April as foreign delegations arrive for scheduled meetings.
Commuters have been urged to allow an additional 45 minutes for travel and avoid unnecessary movement towards restricted areas throughout the capital during the visit.
