The Punjab School Education Department has announced revised school timings for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan 2026. The adjustments are intended to ease the daily schedule for students, teachers, and staff during fasting hours.
Expected School Timings for Regular Schools
- Monday to Thursday: 8:30 am – 1:00 pm
- Friday: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm
Double-Shift Schools
- Shift 1: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm
- Shift 2: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
- Friday adjustment: 2:30 pm – 5:00 pm
Currently, most schools follow the schedule of 8:45 am to 1:30 pm, which has been extended through April 15. Some parents have expressed concerns that the current start time of 8:45 am remains inconvenient, particularly now that smog levels have decreased.
The revised timings are part of routine adjustments the department implements during Ramadan to accommodate the fasting schedule, ensuring that educational activities continue smoothly without overburdening students and staff.
