Are you Asia’s top entrepreneur? Then apply to Commonwealth’s Annual Young Entrepreneur Challenge 2015

The Commonwealth Young Entrepreneurs Alliance – Asia (CAYE – Asia) is seeking young entrepreneurs from the eight Commonwealth – Asia nations to participate in the Young Entrepreneurship Challenge 2015. The CAYE Young Entrepreneur Challenge will lead up to the 4th CAYE Young Entrepreneur Summit that will be held in Putrajaya, Malaysia from 30 October to 2 November 2015.

The event is being held in recognition of the fact that the youth forms a vital part of the global entrepreneurship equation. This platform is specifically for young people to come forth and showcase their talent. The challenge is open to people from Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Brunei, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Singapore and SriLanka. 20 to 35-year-old entrepreneurs with existing businesses can apply for the Challenge.

This year’s theme is ‘Seeker to Creator’, which aims to bring together entrepreneurs who are contributing to the development of the Commonwealth – Asia through job creations, community development activities and partnerships within the region.

In order to be nominated for the event, the applicant must:

  • Be engaged in business in any of the Commonwealth – Asia countries
  • Demonstrate that he/she has created opportunities for others as a result of their business endeavor
  • Exercise excellence in entrepreneurial and business leadership
  • Be regarded in his/her country with integrity and know for practicing good business ethics
  • Be aged 20-35 years, having started their business in the last 2-3 years and ideally have no family business linkage to this enterprise

A local jury will evaluate the business ideas and select top two entries from each member countries. Interviews will be conducted face to face or via electronic means. The top two entries per countries will then be evaluated against other entries from the region.

Attach a summary of bank statement (for the last six months) by the bank or revenue certificate issued by a chartered accountant or the profit and loss account and balance sheet of the business for the last two years. Provide a copy of the business registration. Upload a 3-5 minute video of yourself and/or your business on DailyMotion or YouTube and send the link to us. Submit application via email to yechallenge@caye-asia.com.

Last date to apply is 31st August.
