‘Asan Khidmat Center’ Set for January 2026 Launch, Led by MoITT

The federal government is gearing up to inaugurate Pakistan’s first Asan Khidmat Center in Islamabad. Scheduled for January 2026, this initiative promises to revolutionise public service delivery. According to sources, authorities have already completed more than 60% of the development work.

The Ministry of IT and Telecom (MoITT) is leading this project. It is a key part of the government’s digital governance and citizen facilitation agenda.

Asan Khidmat Center: A One-Stop Solution for Citizens

The new Asan Khidmat Center serves as a comprehensive one-stop platform. It offers over 100 essential government services under one roof. These services cover all stages of life, from birth to death. Consequently, citizens will no longer need to visit multiple offices for routine tasks.

The centre will feature services from major departments. These include the Islamabad Police, NADRA, CDA, DRAP, and FBISE. Additionally, the National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP), Excise and Taxation, SNGPL, and the Immigration and Passport Department will operate counters there.

Furthermore, the FBR, IESCO, and the Deputy Commissioner’s Office will provide their respective services. To expand convenience, MoITT has also instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to add document attestation services to the facility.

The government has already released funds for the project. MoITT has directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to speed up renovation efforts. The CDA is currently handling development, renovation, and furnishing in Block-B of the designated building.

Simultaneously, the National Information Technology Board (NITB) is playing a crucial role. They are responsible for digitising the official records of Pak-PWD. This step ensures modern record management and long-term preservation.

International Collaboration

This initiative follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in September with Azerbaijan. Pakistan is adopting Azerbaijan’s successful citizen-centric service model.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently visited Baku and toured Azerbaijan’s Asaan Khidmat Center. Impressed by the facility, he directed authorities to replicate the model in Islamabad. Officials state that this launch marks a new era in public service delivery. The centre aims to make processes simpler, faster, and more transparent for everyone in the capital.
