Asus is moving its latest software update out of beta after three months of testing. The company launched the Android 16 beta program for the Zenfone 12 Ultra in August, and the stable release is finally ready. The update is not limited to the Zenfone 12 Ultra because the Asus ROG Phone 9 is receiving the same build.
The new firmware version is 36.0810.1810.43, and the download size crosses 1 GB. The rollout has started in batches, so users may need to wait a few days or even weeks before the update reaches every device.
Asus has adjusted system navigation settings and added support for long-pressing the power button to trigger the digital assistant. Screen recording now includes a skip countdown button. The update also fixes an issue that caused Bluetooth headsets to lose audio during calls.
According to the source, owners of the ROG Phone 9 will see several gaming improvements, as many game profiles, AirTrigger profiles, and macro profiles have been refreshed. Asus also warns that some third-party apps may not support Android 16 yet, which could cause temporary compatibility problems.
