Athletes May Soon Ditch Ice Baths for Wireless Recovery Boots
A Chinese technology company has unveiled what it claims are the world’s first AI-powered wireless recovery boots, offering professional-grade leg therapy without the need for clinics, cables, or bulky external equipment. The product is designed to bring advanced muscle recovery tools directly into homes, gyms, and training camps.
The boots were developed by Chuzhou-based UREVO, a company known for its smart fitness and recovery equipment. According to the firm, the system combines artificial intelligence, pneumatic compression, and heat therapy into a fully portable solution aimed at athletes and fitness enthusiasts across skill levels.
AI-Driven Recovery Without Cables or Clinics
UREVO says the boots are powered by its proprietary AI Smart Massage technology, supported by 32 intelligent recovery models. These models allow users to select sessions for warm-ups, post-training recovery, or relaxation, with the system adapting dynamically during use.
“Built-in AI algorithms analyze muscle condition in real time and automatically optimize pressure across the leg, dynamically adapting throughout the session to ensure comfort, effectiveness, and targeted relief,” the company said in its announcement.
Unlike traditional recovery systems that rely on external pumps and hoses, the boots operate wirelessly, allowing users to move freely during sessions.
Compression and Heat Therapy Specifications
According to UREVO, the boots deliver compression levels ranging from 80 to 180 millimeters of mercury, covering light activation through deep compression typically used in professional sports therapy environments.
Heat therapy is also integrated, with three selectable temperature settings of 100.4, 109.4, and 118.4 degrees Fahrenheit. These settings are designed to promote circulation, ease muscle tension, and support relaxation following intense physical activity.
The system uses a matrix airbag structure with eight adjustable deep-massage nodes that target both calves and thighs, helping reduce stiffness and support post-workout recovery.
Mobile App Control and Real-Time Feedback
A companion mobile application allows users to control pressure, intensity, temperature, and massage zones. The app also supports over-the-air firmware updates, enabling UREVO to add features or refinements without requiring new hardware.
Real-time visualizations within the app display muscle recovery data during sessions, giving users insight into how their legs respond over time and allowing for more personalized recovery routines.
Battery Life, Portability, and Design
The boots feature a detachable wireless controller and an integrated 5,000 milliampere-hour battery, providing more than four hours of continuous operation on a single charge. The battery can also function as a power bank for mobile devices, a feature aimed at athletes traveling for competitions or training camps.
Noise levels remain below 65 decibels, making the system suitable for use at home or in shared environments.
Despite housing motors, heating elements, and batteries, the boots weigh approximately 9.2 pounds. A multi-zipper adjustment design allows a single pair to fit users ranging from 160 to 200 centimeters in height, making them suitable for shared use among teammates or family members.
Target Users and Pricing
UREVO says the boots are intended for runners, cyclists, skiers, gym-goers, team-sport athletes, and recreational fitness users. The company plans to showcase the product at CES 2026, which will take place from January 6 to 9 in Las Vegas at the Venetian Expo.
The AI-powered wireless recovery boots are priced at USD 779.99 and are currently available for purchase through the company’s website.
