The Shalimar Recording & Broadcasting Company Limited (SRBC) has formally announced the termination of all its employees. SRBC is the government-owned operator of the ATV channel. This drastic measure is part of court-supervised liquidation proceedings ordered by the Islamabad High Court.
According to an official order issued on November 24, 2025, the liquidation process requires a complete release of personnel. Consequently, all staff members must leave by the close of business on November 30, 2025.
This directive is comprehensive. It applies to every category of employment within the organisation. This includes regular, contractual, and deputed employees. Furthermore, it covers temporary staff, daily-wage workers, broadcast resource persons, and individuals currently on leave.
The management has set a tight deadline for operational handovers. Employees must finalise their departures by November 28. Specifically, outgoing staff must submit written work-status and task-completion reports.
Additionally, the ATV employees are required to hand over official files, documents, passwords, and media storage devices. SRBC has assigned designated focal persons across administrative, engineering, and finance roles to manage these functional handovers. Employees must also submit clearance acknowledgements, CNIC copies, and updated contact information to the Administration Office.
Regarding financial claims, SRBC states that all dues will be calculated according to service rules and applicable laws. This includes gratuity, leave encashment, and pending salary differences. However, the release of these payments is subject to the availability of liquidation funds. The process will follow the priorities approved by the Islamabad High Court.
Muhammad Atif Saeed signed the order on behalf of Khilji Rahat Waheed, Chartered Accountants, who are acting as the Official Liquidators. The notice explicitly states that this cessation of services is a court-mandated requirement. It does not constitute disciplinary action or punitive termination.
