Balochistan Announces Extended Winter Vacations for Schools Starting December 16

Government schools in Balochistan’s colder districts will close for two and a half months from December 16, with the annual winter break scheduled to protect students from harsh weather. The announcement follows the region’s long-standing practice of extended closures during peak winter.

In Chaman, officials confirmed that annual exams for classes 1 to 7 began on November 16 and will continue until November 24, while Class 8 board exams will also begin on November 24.

An education official said,

“Schools must complete all assessments before the start of winter recess to avoid academic delays.”

Punjab has also released its schedule schools across the province will remain closed from December 23, 2025, to January 11, 2026, reopening on January 12.

Both provincial education departments have instructed schools to wrap up exams and all pre-holiday academic activities on time to ensure a smooth transition into the vacation period.
