Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has announced that 3,200 non-functional schools have been reopened and made operational across the province within a year. He added that unnecessary posts in various government departments are being abolished to improve efficiency.
Addressing students of different educational institutions on Monday, the chief minister said the youth are the country’s future and must be protected from harmful propaganda.
“In just one year, more than 3,200 schools have been made functional and classes have begun,” Bugti said. He assured that no school in Balochistan will remain non-functional after December this year. He also confirmed that the merit-based recruitment of 16,000 teachers has been completed.
Bugti further noted that while the province’s youth are full of talent, they have long been deprived of opportunities. To counter this, the provincial government has launched a Youth Policy aimed at providing greater access to education, skill-building, and employment.
He also announced the establishment of Balochistan’s first Women Endowment Fund, designed to support women’s economic empowerment and ensure their active role in the province’s progress.
