Banks across Pakistan will remain open this Saturday, November 29, 2025, with extended hours to ensure smooth processing of government duties and tax payments. The State Bank of Pakistan has instructed all commercial banks including NBP branches that handle customs duties to operate from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, allowing taxpayers to complete over the counter transactions without delays.
The SBP directive confirms that NBP designated branches manually collecting government receipts will settle their transactions with SBP BSC offices the same day after the special clearing cycle. Officials said this arrangement is meant to ensure “timely settlement and uninterrupted tax payments” ahead of month end deadlines.
To support same day settlement, NIFT will collect all government instruments presented on November 29 through a Special Clearing at 5:30 pm, with the clearing results provided by 11:30 pm. The move aims to avoid backlogs and keep the payment system fully functional over the weekend.
