The Punjab cabinet has approved a summary changing the dates of Basant in Lahore. The festival will now be held on March 12, 13 and 14, 2027.
Sources said the new schedule was fixed after the provincial cabinet cleared the proposal. The Lahore deputy commissioner had sent the summary to the Punjab Home Department, which then forwarded it to the cabinet for approval.
The Punjab government had earlier announced a 10-day Basant from January 29 to February 7, 2027. That schedule has now been replaced, and celebrations will take place over the three days in March.
