BMW Integrating DeepSeek in China Models This Year

SHANGHAI: BMW has announced its plans to integrate DeepSeek in its new models in China from later this year. This call was confirmed by the German automaker’s CEO Oliver Zipse at the Auto Shanghai 2025 on Wednesday.

“Key advances in AI are happening here,” Zipse said. “We are strengthening AI partnerships for integration in our vehicles in China. Starting later this year we will integrate AI integration from DeepSeek in our new vehicles in China.”

Zipse’s address wasn’t the only announcement to spark speculation, as BYD confirmed rumors that it would take on Porsche head-on with the all-new Denza Z model reveal at Auto Shanghai 2025.

The new Denza Z, coated in a bold deep-blue finish, represents BYD’s push to challenge luxury giants like Porsche and Mercedes-Benz. The company revealed the vehicle at China’s largest auto show, drawing attention from global automakers, media, and EV enthusiasts.

Wang Chuanfu, BYD’s founder, attended the launch, highlighting the model’s importance. With BYD overtaking Tesla in global EV sales, the Denza Z signals its intent to lead even in the premium segment.

While Tesla struggles with declining sales and profits, BYD continues its rise. Its new launch sends a message to competitors—BYD is here to rival Porsch,e not just in volume but also in luxury and technology.
