Chinese automaker BYD is set to expand its presence in Pakistan with two new electric SUVs by the end of January 2026. The models, BYD Atto 2 and BYD Sealion 7, aim to strengthen the country’s growing EV market.
BYD has already made a mark in Pakistan with affordable and technologically advanced electric sedans and SUVs. Rising fuel prices and government incentives for EV adoption are expected to make the new launches highly attractive to urban and eco-conscious buyers.
The BYD Atto 2 is a subcompact SUV featuring a 32-45.1 kWh Blade Battery, offering a range of 301-401 km. It delivers up to 174 horsepower and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. Fast charging allows the battery to go from 30 to 80 percent in about 28 minutes.
The BYD Sealion 7, a midsize electric SUV, comes with a 71.8-91.3 kWh Blade Battery and produces up to 523 horsepower with all-wheel drive. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. Its ultra-fast DC charging can charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in around 24 minutes.
Industry experts say the arrival of these models will boost Pakistan’s EV ecosystem, including charging infrastructure and service networks. With global automakers focusing on electric mobility, BYD’s expansion highlights Pakistan’s growing importance in the EV sector.
