The launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is just days away, and fans now know how much storage space they’ll need. As expected, the next instalment in the iconic FPS series demands a lot of room, especially on PS5 and PC.
According to PlayStation Game Size on X, the PS5 version of Black Ops 7 (Version 01.085.000 HQ) has a download size of 96.677GB. That’s already huge, but the total gets even bigger when you include additional content packs.
The Co-op Campaign Pack adds 15.594GB, and the Warzone Pack (Version 01.020.000) takes up another 19.734GB. Together, these bring the total size to over 130GB. Players will need plenty of free space before the game’s release.
PC players won’t be spared either. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 needs a minimum of 116GB of storage on launch. The exact file size for Xbox Series consoles remains unknown, but it’s expected to be similar to other platforms. Players should prepare their systems in advance.
Interestingly, Black Ops 7 is much larger than EA’s Battlefield 6, which launched on October 10 and required around 75GB on PC. This makes Black Ops 7 one of the heaviest FPS titles of the year. However, file sizes could change later, as Activision has previously optimised and reduced the Call of Duty HQ app’s size.
This could play a vital role in the race to dominance between the two titles. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will reportedly overtake Battlefield 6 in total number of sales, as covered earlier by TechJuice.
While the download size is massive, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 comes packed with content. Activision has confirmed the list of multiplayer maps and modes available at launch. The publisher also revealed all Operators coming to the game. Some of these will be unlocked instantly, while others will require progression to access.
This fall has been exciting for shooter fans. With Battlefield 6 already out and Black Ops 7 arriving on November 14, both franchises are set to dominate the gaming scene. It’s still unclear which title will take the sales lead, but one thing is certain: Players need to make room for Black Ops 7 before launch day.
