Nishat Group is reportedly preparing to introduce Chery’s electric and plug-in hybrid SUVs in Pakistan, including the Omoda E5 and Jaecoo J7 PHEV, sources told TechJuice. This move is expected to boost Pakistan’s growing new energy vehicle (NEV) market by offering locally available options in the electric vehicle (EV) segment.

These NEVs are part of Chery Automobile Co. Ltd.’s export-focused brands—Omoda and Jaecoo—which specialize in producing battery electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs). According to local media sources, Nishat Group’s initiative is expected to bring these innovative models (reportedly as early as this month) to Pakistan, marking a significant milestone in the country’s EV journey.

Jaecoo J7 PHEV – Features and Specifications

While details about the Pakistani variant are yet to be confirmed, the internationally available Jaecoo J7 PHEV offers impressive specifications. It is powered by a 1.5T DGI hybrid engine, delivering a combined 341 bhp and 525 Nm torque. The vehicle boasts an electric-only range of 90 km and a combined range of 1,200 km.
