In a significant intelligence-based operation, Customs Enforcement Islamabad seized smuggled luxury vehicles, heavy motorcycles, and electronic goods valued at Rs. 412.2 million, officials said. The action underscores the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) ongoing efforts to combat smuggling and protect national revenue.
During the operation, authorities recovered a Rolls-Royce luxury car, 19 heavy bikes including Suzuki and Kawasaki models, and a large quantity of non-duty-paid electronics such as laptops. All items were brought into Pakistan in violation of customs laws and have been shifted to the Customs warehouse for confiscation under the Customs Act, 1969.
“The seizure highlights FBR’s commitment to dismantling smuggling networks and curbing illicit trade,” a spokesperson said, emphasizing that investigations are ongoing.
Smuggling of luxury vehicles and electronics has long been a concern in Pakistan, depriving the national exchequer of millions in customs duties. Operations like this aim not only to recover illegal goods but also to serve as a deterrent against future violations.
With a continued focus on intelligence-led actions, the FBR plans to intensify efforts to intercept smuggled goods across the country, ensuring that such high-value items do not evade customs regulations.
