Google Developer Group (GDG) Islamabad wrapped up DevFest Islamabad 2025 at Ramada Islamabad, drawing more than 300 participants from across the country. Developers, entrepreneurs, students, policymakers, media representatives, and technology leaders gathered to explore the future of artificial intelligence, digital trust, and Pakistan’s growing role in the global tech ecosystem.
This year’s conference placed a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence, Google technologies, and responsible innovation, with discussions centered on productivity, security, ethics, and the practical deployment of AI in Pakistan’s rapidly evolving digital economy. The presence of senior government officials underscored the increasing alignment between public policy and the country’s developer community.
The event was led by GDG Islamabad Co-Managers Sarwat Rizvi, Muhammad Umar Nazir, and Ali Naqi Rizvi, who opened the conference by thanking sponsors, partners, and attendees. Interactive energizers and giveaways helped set an engaging tone, reinforcing DevFest’s focus on community building alongside technical learning.
Secretary IT and Telecommunication Zarrar Hasham Khan attended as Chief Guest, highlighting the importance of platforms like DevFest in bridging gaps between government, industry, and developers. He outlined ongoing national and provincial initiatives aimed at upskilling Pakistan’s workforce through training programs, capacity building, and industry-academia collaboration, positioning AI adoption as a key driver of economic growth and participation in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Talking exclusively to TechJuice, Secretary IT and Telecommunication Zarrar Hasham Khan had some interesting insight into the launch of 5G coming to Pakistan next year.
Several keynote and technical sessions explored the commercial and practical impact of AI. Aziz Kassamali, Founder of BogoLiv, spoke about entrepreneurship and global scalability, stressing that individual initiative plays a critical role in national progress. Ali Naqi Rizvi delivered a deep dive into Gemini 3.0, detailing its advanced reasoning, automation, and agentic capabilities designed to handle complex workflows.
Google Software Engineer Daniyal Khalid introduced Antigravity, Google’s next-generation AI-powered development platform, focusing on building trustworthy AI agents through structured verification and reliability frameworks. Other sessions covered AI in education, retrieval-augmented generation, secure and ethical LLM deployment, and the challenges of synthetic content and digital responsibility.
A parallel workshop titled “Zero Syntax, Just Vibes,” led by Arbisoft’s Ibrahim Khan, demonstrated how design thinking and AI tools are lowering barriers to product creation, even without traditional coding expertise.
DevFest Islamabad 2025 concluded with a networking session and partner-supported giveaways, reinforcing its role as both a learning platform and a catalyst for collaboration.
