A Lahore judicial magistrate on Monday formally indicted Saad Ur Rehman, better known as YouTuber Ducky Bhai, his wife Aroob Jatoi, and other co-accused in a high-profile case alleging the promotion of illegal gambling applications on social media. All accused entered not guilty pleas and will contest the charges as the court scheduled its next hearing for February 23.
The indictment follows a National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) registration alleging that Rehman and his associates used their massive online platforms to promote gambling and betting apps to the public, encouraging investments in unregulated digital platforms without legal safeguards. The case stems from an inquiry dated June 13, 2025.
Rehman was originally arrested at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport in August 2025 as part of the broader NCCIA probe into influencer promotion of unlicensed gambling and betting applications. Several gambling platforms such as Binomo, 1xBet, Bet365 and B9 Game were cited in the FIR, which also pointed to alleged financial losses suffered by members of the public after engaging with these apps.
Earlier in the legal process, Rehman’s bail plea was rejected by a Lahore court on societal impact grounds, before the Lahore High Court later granted post-arrest bail on condition of surety bonds, though he remained in official custody during parts of the proceedings.
The proceedings have also been accompanied by complaints of alleged mistreatment during NCCIA custody, including claims made by Rehman in a lengthy vlog detailing physical and verbal abuse by officials, allegations which sparked a broader debate over the conduct of investigators.
In October, six officials from the NCCIA found themselves in hot water, facing a three-day physical remand for allegedly abusing their power, extorting money, and accepting bribes. This all came to light after Aroob Jatoi filed a complaint against them.
On a related note, back in September, Sarfraz Chaudhry, the Additional Director of NCCIA Lahore, was ousted from his position, reportedly due to a series of controversies, including an incident where he allegedly assaulted Rehman.
