Ducky Bhai, Arooba Jatoi Bail Pleas in Gambling App Case Adjourned
A Lahore court has postponed the hearing of bail pleas filed by popular YouTuber Ducky Bhai (Saad-ur-Rehman) and his wife Arooba Jatoi in the ongoing case alleging their involvement in promoting illegal gambling apps.
The adjournment came at the request of the investigating officer, who informed the court that the probe was still incomplete and required additional time. The court accepted the request and directed investigators to present the complete record at the next session.
The case revolves around allegations that Ducky Bhai and several other influencers endorsed an unregulated gambling app through their social media platforms. The case alleges these promotions resulted in widespread public losses. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) launched the inquiry after receiving complaints of fraud linked to the app.
Earlier this month, Ducky Bhai was arrested as part of the investigation, while Arooba Jatoi had already secured temporary relief through an interim bail order. Both have denied any wrongdoing, arguing they were unaware of the app’s illegal nature. FIA officials, however, maintain that financial records show influencers were paid to promote the platform.
In August, the court granted Jatoi pre-arrest bail and instructed him to fully cooperate with the investigation. In early September, the court extended Ducky Bhai’s physical remand to allow investigators to examine international fund transfers allegedly linked to his accounts.
Ducky Bhai’s post-arrest bail and Arooba Jatoi’s interim bail remain pending. The court has scheduled the next hearing for October 2, when further progress on the investigation is expected.
