Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has ordered city authorities to complete all ongoing road and infrastructure projects before the upcoming Eid holidays. During an inspection of key sites, he stressed that delays would not be tolerated and that citizens should see real improvements rather than just briefings.
The mayor visited multiple projects in the city, including road carpeting in the Old City and renovation works on Jahangir road, Hidayatullah road, and Shahrah-e-Faisal.
Highlighting Jahangir road as a vital route connecting major city arteries, he directed officials to accelerate work and try to open at least one lane before Eid to ease commuter traffic.
Barrister Wahab told municipal teams that the focus should now be on results rather than presentations. With Ramazan underway, he emphasized that residents deserve visible improvements in their daily lives.
The mayor also underscored the importance of maintaining construction standards. Payments to contractors will only be made after proper inspection and verification, ensuring accountability in public works.
