Elden Ring Nightreign DLC Confirmed by Kadokawa by March 2026

FromSoftware’s parent company, Kadokawa, has officially confirmed that Elden Ring Nightreign will receive its long-awaited premium DLC before March 2026. The update came during Kadokawa’s second-quarter earnings report released on November 6, 2025, which covered the period ending September 30, 2025.

The report celebrates the ongoing success of Elden Ring Nightreign, Shadow of the Erdtree, and the Elden Ring franchise as a whole, stating that the game has performed well beyond initial expectations.

FromSoftware’s Development Pipeline

Buried in the slides is something exciting for Elden Ring’s fans: An indication of when we can expect the release of Nightreign’s promised DLC.

A section on page 16 of the report reads:

We have multiple game titles in the development pipeline.
FromSoftware is currently developing Elden Ring Nightreign DLC (planned for release in FY2025), Elden Ring Tarnished Edition (planned for release in 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2), and The Duskbloods (planned for release in 2026).

This clearly shows that Kadokawa has confirmed that these upcoming projects are under development at FromSoftware:

  • Elden Ring Nightreign DLC: Planned for release within FY2025, ending March 31, 2026.
  • Elden Ring Tarnished Edition: Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
  • The Duskbloods: In development for a 2026 release.

This confirms that the Nightreign DLC will arrive no later than March 2026, barring any delays. The financial report further emphasised Kadokawa’s strategy to grow the Elden Ring’s brand through continued expansions and cross-platform releases.

Elden Ring Nightreign’s Success and Ongoing Updates

Since launching in May 2025, Elden Ring Nightreign has steadily evolved with updates that refine gameplay and add new features.

FromSoftware has introduced:

  • Duo Expeditions mode, optimised for two-player gameplay.
  • Deep of Night, a September 2025 challenge mode featuring randomised Nightlords and better loot rewards.
  • Quality-of-life improvements, such as adjustable difficulty “depth” and rank safeguards, giving players more flexibility to experiment with builds.

These updates have kept Nightreign active while fans await major content.

Though Kadokawa didn’t reveal specific details, Nightreign’s Steam page previously teased additional playable characters and bosses. Given the game’s roguelike structure, fans expect FromSoftware to reuse elements from its archives, possibly adding bosses, weapons, and mechanics inspired by Dark Souls and Shadow of the Erdtree.

With Nightreign’s strong performance and the confirmed fiscal year release window, anticipation is building for the next major chapter in the Elden Ring’s universe.
